The tanker had sailed from Turkey and was heading towards Novorossiysk to load oil.
Video obtained by the Greek broadcaster SKAI shows an aerial drone making an initial pass over the vessel, returning, and striking the bridge, which then caught fire.
Maritime security firm Vanguard identified the vessel as the Liberian-flagged Skiros. The extent of the damage, any injuries to the crew, and any pollution remain unclear.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Skiros is a 2009-built Suezmax tanker managed by the Piraeus-based company IMS. The vessel measures 274.7 meters in length and 48.03 meters in width.
