Twelve crewmembers were injured when the oil tanker On Peace was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on 6 October. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has condemned the attack as "deeply concerning."

Of the 19 crew on board, 17 were Indian nationals. Eleven of the 12 injured were Indians. The injured crewmembers were safely evacuated with the assistance of Omani authorities and are receiving treatment in Khasab, Oman.
The Ministry of External Affairs strongly condemned the attack and called for an immediate end to the targeting of commercial ships.
On Peace is a Panamanian-flagged crude oil tanker built in 2021. The vessel measures 250 metres in length, has a beam of 44 metres, and a gross tonnage of 63,134.
