The vessel was struck multiple times by aerial drones that triggered fire. The extent of the damage remains unclear, while the condition of the vessel and its crew has not been confirmed.
According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the vessel is listed as being involved in transporting weapons and military equipment between Syria and Russia. However, Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack, and no Ukrainian or other official authority has confirmed its involvement.
Lady Mariia is a 2000-built vessel owned by Russia-based MG-Flot. The 127-meter-long vessel had been sanctioned by the US in 2022 and by Ukraine in May 2026.
