Terminal Pacífico Sur (TPS) and Santiago Wanderers announced the renewal of their alliance for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, strengthening a relationship that for almost two decades has united the concessionaire of the Port of Valparaíso with the Dean of Chilean football.
"The new agreement not only ensures the continuity of TPS as Main Sponsor but also expands the scope of this collaboration, incorporating support for Santiago Wanderers' U-20 category, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to the development of young talent and the future of Valparaíso sports," TPS communicated.
"This support will begin with a historic milestone for Chilean football: the participation of Santiago Wanderers' U-20 team, champion of the Copa Libertadores de América in its category, in the Intercontinental Cup, where they will face Real Madrid on September 19 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Spain," it added.
The renewal consolidates an alliance formally initiated in 2008, which has transcended the sporting sphere to become a platform for community engagement and the promotion of values such as teamwork, perseverance, and pride in Valparaíso.
In this regard, Cristian Rodríguez, general manager of TPS, highlighted that "we are very proud to renew this alliance for 2027 and 2028 and, at the same time, redouble our commitment to Santiago Wanderers. We firmly believe in sport as a driver of social development and in the enormous impact that the Dean has on the identity of Valparaíso. Incorporating the U-20 is great news, for the young talents and for a generation that is already making history for Chile and for our city."
For his part, Luis Sánchez, general manager of Santiago Wanderers, stated that "it is quite important for us to renew for two more years with TPS, for both men's and women's football, and we are also happy because this year and next year we will have them as Main Sponsor for youth football, boys and girls. We have had years of commercial relationship because we need the connection with the port, and TPS, as part of what they do as a terminal, is to have a closer relationship with Valparaíso. We are very proud to have them again and hopefully, we will continue for several years."
TPS will continue to have a prominent presence on the official uniforms of the men's, women's, and U-20 teams as the main sponsor, in addition to continuing to promote sports initiatives and community engagement alongside one of Valparaíso's most emblematic institutions.
