Kempower has signed a framework agreement with DP World to supply electric vehicle charging infrastructure and related services across all its terminals in Canada.
Kempower's agreement standardizes charging infrastructure across all DP World terminals in Canada.
Kempower's flexible and scalable charging solutions will support the electrification of service vehicles and container handling equipment, while also laying the groundwork for future electrification projects.
DP World currently operates five port terminals in Canada: Vancouver, Fraser Surrey, Nanaimo, Prince Rupert, and Saint John. Construction of its new Contrecoeur container terminal at the Port of Montreal is underway, and it is expected to become operational in 2030.
In the first phase of the collaboration, Kempower will supply a total of 46 Kempower satellites, providing a total of 4.4 megawatts of power in Vancouver, Fraser Surrey, and Prince Rupert, with the Vancouver plant already operational.
Kempower's distributed and modular charging infrastructure ensures flexible power distribution with integrated redundancy to guarantee uninterrupted operation, making it an ideal solution for the demanding operational requirements of ports.

In 2024, Kempower partnered with DP World at the London Gateway logistics hub, where Kempower's charging technology supports the operations of the electric terminal.
