Colombia assumed the three-year presidency of the Southeast Pacific Regional Hydrographic Commission, a role previously held by Chile. The decision was adopted during the XVII Meeting of the Commission, with the participation of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama.
The initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation among the region's hydrographic services and create better conditions for maritime activities. This coordination contributes to the safety of navigation and the development of maritime transport that connects the markets of the Southeast Pacific.
Hydrographic and oceanographic information supports the planning of maritime operations, favoring the continuity and safety of commercial routes. These factors are relevant for regional logistics and the movement of goods among participating countries.
