The Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the National Port Authority (APN), signed a collaboration agreement with Terminales del Perú (TdP) that will improve truck flow monitoring and cargo security, as well as prevent illicit acts that could affect international trade at the accesses to the Port of Callao.
The agreement will facilitate the installation and operation of a video surveillance camera and a radio link antenna at TdP, a facility located in Callao.
Images from this video camera will be centralized through the APN's Control, Communications, and Emergency Response Center (CCCRE)–Callao, contributing to an immediate response to situations that may affect port security.
It should be noted that the APN's CCCRE maintains permanent monitoring of the country's port facilities and their accesses, through its Functional Units nationwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
"With these actions, the APN contributes to a safer and more articulated National Port System, generating better conditions for the development of port activity and foreign trade," the entity stated.
