ProInversión presented an investment portfolio of over US$50 billion for the 2026-2030 period to international funds and investors in New York. The proposal includes infrastructure, transport, energy, sanitation, and other sector projects, under public-private partnership (PPP) and asset-based project modalities.
ProInversión's Executive President, Luis Del Carpio, presented the portfolio during the second day of the XIX inPERU Roadshow, held at the offices of Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. The portfolio comprises 87 projects and eight contractual addenda, distributed across 24 regions of the country, and could benefit approximately 30 million people.
Included sectors are transport and telecommunications; irrigation, mining, real estate development, and tourism; water and sanitation; health and education; as well as natural gas and electricity.
For the fourth quarter of this year, ProInversión expects to finalize projects and contractual addenda worth approximately US$2.3 billion.
Among the planned initiatives are electricity transmission projects, the Chimbote Port Terminal, and the expansion of Cálidda's natural gas networks for seven southern regions.
Furthermore, Del Carpio told RPP that the addendum for the Lima-Chosica train project would be signed in December.
These initiatives are part of the portfolio that the agency presented to international investors to promote project development through private sector participation.
During its presentation, ProInversión also unveiled a set of large transport projects currently under evaluation, with a potential reference investment exceeding US$35 billion.
These initiatives include the Andahuaylas-Marcona, Lima-Ica, and Lima-Barranca railways, as well as Lines 3 and 4 of the Lima Metro.
The agency also highlighted the development of three strategic corridors—north, central, and south—to connect the Pacific coast with the Andes, the Amazon, and Brazil.
The proposal includes port, railway, road, logistics, and irrigation projects, aimed at improving connectivity between regions and strengthening the country's competitiveness.
The amount exceeding US$35 billion corresponds to a reference estimate of transport projects under evaluation and is presented separately from the general portfolio of over US$50 billion.
In meetings with international investors, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Elmer Cuba, highlighted the openness of the Peruvian economy and the freedom of capital entry and exit as strengths for attracting investments.
The head of the MEF noted that the Government is promoting structural reforms to increase productivity, foster labor formalization, and expand financial inclusion. He also indicated that high-level commissions have been formed to propose measures to improve public investment management and boost tax compliance.
"These reforms seek to strengthen the country's competitiveness, expand growth opportunities, and consolidate sustainable public finances," Cuba stated.
The minister also explained that the Government is preparing a preventive fiscal response to the potential effects of the El Niño phenomenon and external shocks.
Measures mentioned include temporary transfers to affected households, resources for the maintenance of schools, police stations, and health establishments, financing for stalled projects due to lack of budget, and liquidity mechanisms for businesses.
The XIX inPERU Roadshow took place on October 26 and 27 in New York and brought together over 80 representatives from Peru's public and private sectors, led by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Elmer Cuba, and the President of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Julio Velarde.
During both days, the delegation participated in meetings and presentations at BTG Pactual, J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs, where they presented the country's economic outlook and investment opportunities to financial institutions and international funds.
inPERU President, Mercedes Aráoz, emphasized that the challenge is to convert investor interest into projects that drive economic growth, generate employment, and contribute to the well-being of the population.
