PSA Antwerp has received a new ship-to-shore (STS) crane at the Noordzee Terminal, increasing its crane fleet to 14 units and strengthening its capacity to operate the world's largest container ships.
The new crane is designed to operate with the latest generation of ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs). With a lifting height of 52 meters and a reach of up to 26 container rows, it is capable of operating with the largest container ships currently in operation worldwide.
The new STS crane is equipped with modern technologies to ensure safe and efficient container handling. This investment contributes to the modernization of the Noordzee Terminal and reinforces the capacity and reliability of the services PSA Antwerp offers its clients.
Following its arrival, the crane will be unloaded from the transport vessel. Subsequently, an installation, testing, and inspection process will begin, lasting several months before the crane is fully operational.
