Tisur to accelerate Matarani Port expansion works in 2027

The main works contemplated in the expansion of the Matarani Port concession will see their greatest development during 2027, according to Tisur General Manager Mauricio Núñez del Prado Eguiluz.

The executive, as detailed by the local Peruvian media outlet Prensa Regional, explained that the company is currently carrying out some preliminary interventions and that the most visible construction phase is planned for the last quarter of 2027.

Among the works under development is the adaptation of a pier for sulfuric acid handling, an infrastructure that, according to Núñez del Prado, would be operational by mid-next year.

The expansion also includes the incorporation of new port equipment. The General Manager of Tisur indicated that the company has already acquired a first crane, whose arrival in Matarani is scheduled for January. Subsequently, the equipment renewal process will continue, with new additions projected towards 2029.

"We are already working in accordance with our assumed commitments," said Núñez del Prado.

In parallel, Tisur has completed the design and engineering of the port's new administrative building. "We have just completed the design and engineering of what will be the port's new administrative building," he said.

Construction of this infrastructure will begin during 2027 and, once the new building is completed, the demolition of the current administrative facilities is contemplated.
