Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos (TPE), operator of the Peruvian port of Paita, announced that two of its berths will be temporarily out of service for maintenance work. The work is expected to last a total of 30 days.
"Due to the scheduled work for the replacement of the mooring dolphins on the pier, berths 1B and 1D will not be available for vessel berthing service from Friday, September 18, until October 17 of this year," the company reported.
"During this period, underwater cutting, welding, painting, and other necessary activities for the completion of the project will be carried out, so the aforementioned berths will remain out of operation. All users of the Port Terminal are requested to take the necessary precautions and consider this restriction in their operational planning and scheduling," it added.
In addition to this measure, TPE will implement a 6.1% tariff increase, which will come into effect on October 1 of this year. The company stated that this adjustment is made "in order to continue making investments in the terminal's infrastructure and ensuring the improvement of our services."
It is worth mentioning that the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Public Transport Infrastructure of Peru (Ositran) highlighted that the investments made by the Port Terminal of Paita correspond to the highest valuation in the Peruvian port sector between January and August 2026.
In line with what was reported by the public entity, the valuation corresponds to the completion of investments totaling USD 1.87 million for the landslide containment system in the area adjacent to the terminal and the expansion of reefer racks.
