DP World Callao achieved a new historical record by mobilizing 200,000 TEU during October 2026, registering its highest monthly volume of containerized cargo ever. This result represents a new milestone for the Muelle Sur terminal and reflects the responsiveness of its operations, supported by sustained investments in infrastructure, technology, and equipment, as well as the commitment of its employees, as highlighted by the company.
"This record reflects the dynamism of Peruvian foreign trade and the importance of having modern and efficient port infrastructure at the service of the country. Behind every container moved there are companies, jobs, and development opportunities that contribute to the growth of our economy," said Marco Hernández, General Manager of DP World Callao.
This new milestone also puts into perspective the challenges facing national port infrastructure in the face of growing cargo volumes, the evolving size of vessels, and the increasing efficiency demands of international logistics chains.
Currently, DP World Callao has a 1,050-meter quay, 10 gantry cranes, and an installed capacity of up to 2.7 million TEU annually. However, the projected growth in demand makes it necessary to continue evaluating investments that will progressively expand operational capacity to further strengthen the country's logistical connectivity.
"The growth of foreign trade poses new challenges for the country's port infrastructure. Therefore, we seek to continue investing to expand operational capacity, anticipate market needs, and accompany the growth of the Peruvian economy. Infrastructure development requires a long-term vision that allows strengthening Peru's competitiveness," added Hernández.
The record adds to the terminal's growth trajectory, which in 2025 surpassed, for the first time, 2 million TEU moved in a year, consolidating its contribution to Peru's connectivity with major international markets.
