Puerto Bolívar has achieved an 80% overall progress on a package of works involving a USD 36 million investment. The works aim to expand the terminal's logistical capacity and support the growth of Ecuadorian exports.
Among the main works is a new refrigerated warehouse, 95% complete, which will have 22,000 square meters, 32 cold storage chambers, and capacity for over 12,000 pallets. The space will incorporate robotic systems to optimize product loading and unloading.
The Access Gate Complex is 65% complete and aims to streamline the entry of cargo vehicles and reduce waiting times. Paving work on the access roads is also progressing, contributing to improved circulation and logistical operations at the port.
