Yangtze Canal Expansion: Rotterdam Completes First Phase

The Port of Rotterdam has completed the first phase of the Yangtze Canal expansion with the construction of a tugboat quay featuring 12 berths, executed by the Hakkers, De Klerk, and Van Oord consortium. The second phase includes a 1,450-meter quay wall with 20 additional berths, dredging of 1.4 million cubic meters, and the use of geopolymer concrete, which reduces carbon emissions by 50%, allowing for two-way traffic of vessels up to 24,000 TEU.
