The cable-laying vessel NKT Victoria is currently at Ulstein Verft in Norway, undergoing a maintenance program that includes a decennial overhaul, maintenance work, and the replacement of the onboard ROV system.
The scope of the project includes hull preparation, inspections, classification-related activities, technical maintenance, and surface treatment. Additionally, it encompasses work related to the ROV system and necessary support systems while the vessel is at the shipyard, including steel outfitting, electrical work, equipment installation, foundations, and the integration of new systems.
The NKT Victoria was delivered in 2017 and was specifically designed for the installation of high-voltage submarine cables. Built at the Kleven shipyards, it belongs to NKT and is operated by Remøy Management.
Equipped with advanced cable-laying technology, dynamic positioning, and ROV (remotely operated vehicle) capability, the vessel supports cable installation projects worldwide. Its last visit to Ulstein Verft took place between 2021 and 2022 for upgrades, maintenance work, and the renewal of its five-year certification.
The yard assignment is scheduled to conclude in October.
