Construction of Wagenborg's first EasyMax 2.0 vessel, with flexible fuel capability and shipyard number 871, continues to advance at the Niestern Sander shipyard in Delfzijl, with the installation of the main engine and gearbox.
The EasyMax 2.0 series builds upon Wagenborg's existing EasyMax fleet while introducing a series of innovations aimed at sustainable and future-proof maritime transport.
Designed as a 14,000 DWT multipurpose vessel, it combines operational flexibility with readiness for the changing demands of the maritime industry. The flexible fuel concept allows operation with bio-MGO and includes preparation for future alternative fuels such as methanol, ammonia, and LNG.
Previous project milestones include the transport and assembly of various hull sections and the successful installation of the bridge deck, each representing a significant step in the gradual construction of the EasyMax 2.0 series vessel.
With the main engine and gearbox now installed, vessel number 871 has entered a new construction phase. Over the coming months, outfitting activities, system integration, and commissioning will continue as the vessel progresses towards its launch in October.
