QINGDAO, Oct. 9, 2026 – CSSC CSTC and QBS have delivered Mineral Europa to CMB.TECH. This vessel is the world’s first 210,000 DWT ammonia dual fuel Newcastlemax bulk carrier, marking a major breakthrough in the green and low-carbon transition of the dry bulk shipping sector.
Ammonia is one of the most promising zero-carbon fuels for deep decarbonization of large ocean-going vessels. The delivery of this vessel offers a practical "CSSC solution" for decarbonization of the global bulk carrier fleet and demonstrates China's shipbuilding strength and first-mover advantage in green propulsion.
Joint efforts among CMB.TECH, QBS, CSTC, LR, Anglo-Eastern, CSE, WinGD and Sunrui secured the high-quality delivery of this world-first vessel, achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
Moving forward, CSSC will continue to further tap into the green and smart vessel market, supporting the global shipping industry’s journey toward net-zero emissions.
