Cosco Shipping Bulk has added the Yuan Hai Si Lu, a 325,000 deadweight ton (DWT) Very Large Ore Carrier (VLOC) with dual-fuel methanol propulsion, to its fleet. The vessel was delivered and christened in Yangzhou, China, under the Hong Kong flag.

The ship integrates intelligent navigation systems, safety monitoring, and digital tools to optimize operation and technical data management. Furthermore, its design allows for the transportation of iron ore and bauxite, expanding its flexibility for bulk cargo transport.

Environmentally, the Yuan Hai Si Lu complies with IMO's EEDI Phase 3 standard and can use a combination of methanol and conventional fuel. This incorporation reflects the maritime industry's progress towards digitalization technologies and lower emission intensity alternatives.
