HX Expeditions joined the UK Chamber of Shipping in a key year for the company, as it celebrates 130 years of pioneering exploration tradition and looks to the future to shape the next chapter of responsible expedition travel from its London headquarters.
Founded in 1896, HX Expeditions has been taking curious travelers to some of the planet's most remote and stunning destinations for 130 years, including Antarctica, the Arctic, Greenland, Alaska, and the Galapagos. Joining the UK Chamber of Shipping in this anniversary year represents both a celebration of that heritage and a commitment to bring its expedition expertise to the British maritime community.
As a member, the shipping company will contribute to industry discussions in areas such as safety, sustainability, innovation, skills, and the future of responsible maritime operations, bringing over a century of experience operating in some of the world's most sensitive environments.
Iain McNeill, Director of Operations at HX Expeditions, stated that "joining the UK Chamber of Shipping during our 130th anniversary is a significant moment for HX Expeditions. Our trajectory is based on exploration, maritime expertise, and a deep respect for the places we visit, and we are proud to bring this perspective to the Chamber. As we celebrate our 130 years of history, we are also focused on the next 130: working with partners across the sector to drive safety, sustainability, innovation, and responsible maritime tourism into the future."
Rhett Hatcher, CEO of the UK Chamber of Shipping, said that "the strength of the Chamber lies in the breadth and diversity of its members. HX Expeditions brings a unique perspective, forged over more than 130 years of maritime experience. Their expertise in safe and responsible operations in some of the world's most remote environments will be a valuable contribution to our work on many of the challenges facing our industry. We are pleased to welcome HX to the Chamber and look forward to collaborating with them."
"This announcement marks a significant moment for HX Expeditions, as it honors its past, strengthens its commitment to the UK maritime sector, and helps shape the conversations that will define responsible exploration for generations to come," added Hatcher.
