We are pleased to announce further enhancements to our Gemini network, following the previously announced structural rerouting of our Asia–Mediterranean services through the Suez Canal. These changes include the introduction of the new AE18 service, which, together with AE19, will consolidate our existing West Mediterranean hub coverage. Through our modular network concept, this will also enable product enhancements for our customers, e.g. shipping from Asia to West Africa and to the East Coast of Latin America.
This will facilitate the following improvements to existing Gemini services:
AE2 – Replace Tangier with Rotterdam westbound, providing an alternative and improved service from Ningbo and Shanghai to Rotterdam.
AE11 – Add Salalah westbound and replace Tangier with Port Said westbound, opening new corridors to and from Salalah.
AE19 – Replace Shanghai with Nansha, opening new coverage to Europe and adding Damietta.
AE18 – replaces AE2, AE12 and AE11 coverage in Tangier and Algeciras, while adding coverage from Xiamen. The full rotation for the new AE18 service will be as follows:
Shanghai – Xiamen – Tanjung Pelepas – Algeciras – Tangier – Algeciras – Xiamen
The enhancements will take effect from the sailings listed below:
| Service | First Vessel | Voyage | First Call | ETD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AE2 | MOSCOW MAERSK | 646W | Ningbo | 15 November |
