MPC Container Ships (MPCC) announced its results for the second quarter of 2026, reporting another quarter of consistent operational performance supported by a significant charter contract portfolio and continuous progress in its fleet renewal program, with operating revenues of USD 116.9 million (USD 137.9 million in the same period of 2025) and EBITDA of USD 95.4 million (USD 107.4 million).
Adjusted EBITDA for non-recurring items was USD 65 million (USD 80.7 million), while the charter order book stood at USD 2.2 billion with 99% contractual coverage for 2026 and high coverage for 2027 (85%), 2028 (60%), and 2029 (39%).
The recurring quarterly dividend reached USD 0.04 per share, and the average adjusted TCE was USD 24,951 per day (USD 26,247).
The balance sheet remains strong, with 30 debt-free vessels and a leverage ratio of 28.4%. The Group's fleet consisted of 65 vessels, with a total capacity of approximately 186,000 TEU, of which 17 were newbuild ships on order. One was delivered in August.
MPCC CEO, Constantin Baack, commented that "this was another quarter of consistent performance and a reminder of the value of contractual visibility in a market that remains volatile and difficult to predict. In our segment, the market remained firm, with limited supply of modern tonnage and solid demand driven by intra-regional trade and ongoing supply chain disruptions."
"Our fleet renewal strategy is yielding results, and our long-term charter coverage provides a natural hedge that secures earnings regardless of market fluctuations. With a contractual revenue backlog of USD 2.2 billion and coverage extending well into 2028 and beyond, visibility has become one of our most valuable assets," added Baack.
MPCC Co-CEO and CFO, Moritz Fuhrmann, stated that "we continue to advance our fleet renewal on a solid financial foundation. We secured a new USD 375 million secured term loan to finance 10 of the new vessels ordered last year, and shortly after the close of the quarter, we completed a USD 107 million private placement with demand exceeding supply, which restored balance sheet flexibility and attracted several new investors."
"Our balance sheet remains conservative, with moderate leverage and a significant portion of the fleet debt-free, positioning us to pursue new opportunities that generate value for our shareholders," added Fuhrmann.
