The Santos Port Authority (APS), the company responsible for the public infrastructure of the Port of Santos, won the 2026 Diversity in Practice Award from Blend Edu in the Internal Structure category last Tuesday (6). The recognition highlights the initiative "2025 Diversity Census in Brazilian Port Authorities."
The award-winning project brought together six port authorities to identify the profile of their employees and understand how diversity and inclusion are experienced in the workplace. Conducted in 2025, the census had the participation of 1,185 employees from the institutions involved.
The survey collected data on representation and perception of inclusion, establishing a base of information to guide decisions, identify challenges, and direct actions.
"The Census helps transform data into decisions, guide inclusion initiatives, people development, and representation goals in leadership," explains Alexandre Fávaro Sanches, a member of the APS Diversity Committee and administrator in the company's Career and Training Management (Gecar).
Companhia Docas do Ceará, Porto do Itaqui, Companhia Docas do Rio Grande do Norte, Portos do Paraná, and Portos Rio also participated in the Census. APS coordinated the project's structuring, technical studies, specialized methodology contracting, and articulation among the participating institutions.
