Seaboard Marine informed its customers that it will implement a peak season surcharge that will apply to all northbound cargo from the west coast of South America to the United States and Canada.
According to the shipping company, the charge will come into effect on October 11, 2026, and will be applied on top of all contractual rates and prices. The measure also applies to shipments originating in Chile, Ecuador, and Peru.
According to the shipping line, the surcharges to be implemented will be USD 300 for 20-foot dry containers, USD 600 for 40-foot dry containers of the same type, and USD 800 for 40-foot reefer units.
