The General Manager of the shipping company Transportes Puelche, César Hechenleitner, and the Regional Ministerial Secretary (Seremi) of Transport and Telecommunications of the Los Lagos Region, Rodrigo Böttger, held a working meeting. The meeting allowed them to address the current challenges of maritime connectivity in the area and the various services the company operates, especially in isolated and strategic areas for the connectivity of communities and users.
Likewise, in a coordination and work session aimed at strengthening connectivity, the Seremi, along with his technical team, visited the company's Operational Monitoring and Control Center located in Puerto Montt.
The Seremi of Transport and Telecommunications, Rodrigo Böttger, stated that "we appreciate the company's permanent willingness to address the requirements of the community and users. Today we were also able to address some situations related to connectivity in Calbuco and Yal, which can be resolved with dialogue and goodwill. The most important thing is to always move forward thinking about the well-being of the users."
"For us, it is very important that the authorities can see firsthand how we are strengthening maritime operations through technology applied to safety and the permanent support of our crews. This monitoring center allows us to have real-time information to make better operational decisions, minimize risks, and provide a safer and more efficient service for the communities that depend on our connectivity," said César Hechenleitner.
The Operational Monitoring and Control Center incorporates a specially equipped space for the functioning of the Crisis Committee, designed to face contingencies by accessing precise and updated live information, allowing for rapid and efficient coordination in the event of emergencies.
Transportes Puelche highlighted that these types of meetings allow for progress in closer public-private coordination, sharing experiences and good practices in maritime connectivity, innovation, and operational safety for the benefit of the communities in the Los Lagos Region.
