Following the sudden rainfall over the weekend, the National Port System Administration Manzanillo deployed brigades this Monday for garbage collection, drain cleaning, and the removal of waste and sediments from the drainage system in areas surrounding the port facility.
In this regard, the following activities were carried out:
Thorough cleaning was performed at various critical points such as the Pez Vela roundabout, gates 3, 4, 8, and 9, the Pez Vela and La Negrita roundabouts, Orca and Tapeixtles streets, port accesses, Tapeixtles lagoon, SSA Terminal, Section 15, as well as the access to the mining train.
118 bags of waste were collected, totaling 648.7 kilograms extracted from grates and drains from San Pedrito to the old Nursing Home, and in all drains in the Pez Vela Roundabout area and the Inner Port.
ASIPONA permanently maintains crews of workers who act before, during, and after storms to prevent the collapse of the drainage system, thereby preventing floods in the city. All of this is part of the actions for a good Port-City relationship.
