The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur) led the XVI Technical Roundtable for the Logistics Operability of Foreign Trade in the Callao-Chancay axis, a space for coordination among public entities, business associations, and private actors linked to the national logistics chain.
The session, held at Mincetur's headquarters, was chaired by the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Sayuri Bayona Matsuda, who reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting comprehensive solutions for foreign trade, for the logistics corridors in the north, center, and south of the country, in accordance with the objectives of the National Multisectoral Foreign Trade Policy until 2040.
Likewise, progress and challenges related to infrastructure, port operability, and the digitalization of foreign trade processes were reviewed, and new actions were coordinated to reduce logistics times and costs.
Among the main topics addressed were the development of the Callao foreport, the works related to the Chancay bridge and the Chancay–Chancayllo bypass road, as well as measures aimed at organizing the transit of cargo vehicles and improving connectivity in this important logistics zone.
Furthermore, the Vice Minister highlighted important milestones that strengthen the country's export competitiveness, such as the recent ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with Hong Kong, the implementation of the new version of the Restricted Goods component of the Single Window for Foreign Trade, the Regulation of Private Special Economic Zones (ZEEP), and the promotion of the Tacna Free Zone.
The Technical Roundtable will continue to monitor the agreements and prioritized projects, promoting more modern and efficient logistics that contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Peruvian foreign trade.
More than 30 entities and business associations from the public and private sectors participated in the session, including representatives from MTC, APN, Ositran, Indecopi, Sunat, the District Municipality of Chancay, cargo associations, and port concessionaires.
