Simplifying requirements, reducing barriers, and accelerating the implementation of industrial parks were some of the main topics addressed by the Ministry of Production (Produce) during the second session of the Multisectoral Working Group to promote and implement Industrial Parks nationwide, as part of an agenda aimed at strengthening productive infrastructure and generating better conditions for industrial investment.
Likewise, measures aimed at improving the conditions for the development and operation of industrial productive infrastructure were analyzed, considering aspects related to basic services, environmental management, licenses, and coordination with local and regional governments.
The Working Group also evaluated a medium-term vision to strengthen the National System of Industrial Parks, incorporating a productive infrastructure perspective that allows responding to the characteristics and opportunities of the different regions of the country.
"We need to create conditions that allow industrial projects to develop and operate more efficiently. This implies reviewing the rules, reducing unnecessary barriers, and coordinating the different entities involved in these processes," said the Vice Minister of MSMEs and Industry, Eloy Durán Cervantes.
As part of the agreements, Produce will continue with the technical review of the proposals and will gather input from the members of the Working Group, with the aim of consolidating an agenda that allows progress in the implementation of industrial parks and strengthening the country's productive infrastructure.
The Multisectoral Working Group is composed of representatives from the Ministry of Production, which presides over it; the Ministries of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Foreign Trade and Tourism, Culture, Environment, and Economy and Finance; the National Assembly of Regional Governments and the Association of Municipalities of Peru; as well as representatives from the National Society of Industries, Confiep, ADEX, ComexPerú, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Peru).
With these actions, Produce seeks to contribute to a more favorable environment for investment, industrial activity, and job creation, promoting more competitive and decentralized productive development.
