APN Signs Memorandum with Guatemala for Port Innovation

The National Port Authority (APN), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), and the National Port Commission of Guatemala (CPN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of strengthening technical and institutional cooperation between both countries and opening a new stage of joint work to address the challenges and opportunities of the port sector.

The agreement includes the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices in strategic areas such as sustainable and resilient port infrastructure, digital transformation, innovation, energy transition, decarbonization, circular economy, port protection and security, as well as the integration between ports and cities.

Participating in the protocolary act were the Chairman of the APN Board of Directors, Abel Alvarado Huertas; the Ambassador of Guatemala in Peru, Herbert Meneses Coronado; the General Director of the National Port Commission of Guatemala, Leonel Molina Cabrera; Minister Counselor Lucy Camacho Bueno, Director (e) of Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.

With this alliance, the APN consolidates its international cooperation ties and reaffirms its commitment to modern, competitive, sustainable port development, articulated with cities, contributing to strengthening Peru's position as a benchmark for port development in the region.
