Turkey Defines Areas for First Offshore Wind Energy Auction
Turkey's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources identified four offshore wind energy areas in Saros Bay, Gökçeada, Bozcaada, and off the coast of Edremit for its first renewable energy tender in 2026. The government plans to offer 1.5 GW of capacity this year, with a goal of 2 GW annually, aiming to reach 5,000 megawatts by 2035. Turkey will invest $30 billion in transmission infrastructure by 2035.
