Bilbao activates EES digital system for border control of non-EU passengers
The Port of Bilbao has implemented the Entry/Exit System (EES) to automate border controls for travelers from non-European Union countries. The Port Authority, National Police, and Brittany Ferries collaborated on its implementation. The new system replaces manual passport stamping with digital registration including biographical and biometric data (facial image and fingerprints), improving the detection of overstays and strengthening internal security.
