Movecta announced investments exceeding USD 19 million in the coming years to expand its operations at the Port of Suape, in Pernambuco, and strengthen its presence in Northeast Brazil. The first phase of the project plans to double the free zone area of the Customs, Logistics and Industrial Center (CLIA), expanding the company's operational capacity in the region.
With the new investments, Movecta will expand its usable area from the current 96,000 m² to 180,000 m², consolidating its position as the largest back-port operator in a free zone in the state.
These investments are part of the Movecta 2030 Plan, which aims to double the company's revenues in priority segments and expand its presence in strategic regions for Brazilian logistics and foreign trade.
The project includes customs clearance for an additional 84,000 m² and incorporates adjustments required by the Federal Revenue Service, such as fencing the area, implementing a closed-circuit video surveillance system, improving pavement, and expanding the infrastructure dedicated to serving the chemical industry, among other necessary interventions for customs operations.
In addition to physical expansion, the company will also invest in technology, equipment, and infrastructure to increase its service capacity for the Northeast industry, offering integrated logistics solutions with greater scale, security, and efficiency.
The Suape plant primarily serves the machinery, chemical, plastics, beverages, and automotive sectors, which have experienced growth in the region. In 2025, the Suape plant managed over 30,000 containers and 544,000 tons of general cargo, reinforcing its importance for the Northeast logistics chain.
"We are taking an important step to strengthen logistics efficiency, expand our capacity to manage increasingly complex operations, and support the growth of clients who depend on specialized infrastructure in the region. This investment reinforces our long-term commitment to Pernambuco and to the development of Brazilian foreign trade," stated Rodrigo Casado, Executive Director of Movecta.
The expansion is also expected to boost job creation. Up to 100 jobs are estimated to be created in the coming months, in activities related to the construction and operation of the terminal.
