The Alexandria Port Authority celebrated calls of two cruise ships in early June: the Aroya and the Regent Seven Seas Grandeur.
Officials were onsite to welcome both vessels, with representatives from the Alexandria Port Authority and other governmental entities, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
Following a visit to the Turkish port of Kusadasi, the Regent Seven Seas Cruises spent the night docked in Alexandria before continuing its itinerary.
The Aroya made the first of a series of regular visits to the Egyptian port scheduled for the summer season.
In addition to bringing 2,063 passengers to Alexandria, the Aroya Cruises ship also used the port's cruise terminal for interporting operations.
Nearly 275 local guests boarded the ship in Egypt for a seven-night cruise to destinations in Turkey, including Istanbul, Kas and Marmaris.
According to the Alexandria Port Authority, the 3,400-passenger ship is scheduled to make ten visits to the destination in 2026.
Eight will feature interporting operations, with Egyptian guests set to start and end their cruises in Alexandria.
In addition to the Aroya, Alexandria is set to welcome ships from a range of cruise lines throughout the rest of 2026.
The lineup includes vessels from MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, TUI Cruises, P&O Cruises, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Azamara and Star Clippers.
Operating a series of 10- and 11-night cruises from Italy and Croatia, the MSC Lirica will be another regular caller. The 2,000-passenger ship is scheduled to make six visits to the port between October and December.
