In a presentation at this week's Western Australian Cruise Exchange in Perth, the late Christine Cole was inducted into the Cruise Lines International Association Australasia's Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honour is ordinarily bestowed at CLIA Australasia's annual cruise industry awards black tie dinner.
It was announced to Western Australia's tourism industry and cruise line leaders as a posthumous tribute to Cole, recognising her standing within the industry.
CLIA Australasia Executive Director Joel Katz said Cole had played a pivotal role in shaping and growing WA's cruise sector.
"She worked patiently and persistently with cruise lines, ports, destinations, tourism operators and communities across the state and helped build the partnerships and understanding that allowed cruise tourism in WA to mature and prosper," Katz said.
Cole had many roles at Tourism Western Australia, including that as Cruise & Niche Tourism manager and led the development and implementation of the 10-year cruise tourism strategic plan.
