(3 p.m. EDT) – Who doesn't love a good sneak peek when it comes to cruise ship attractions? MSC Cruises recently revealed initial images of several of MSC World Asia's most heart-racing onboard attractions.
First up: The Spiral @ Tree of Life. The line calls this on-deck thrill experience "the longest dry slide at sea." It's 267 feet and will drop you 11 decks in mere seconds.
The Tree of Life is a symbol of the actual trees found at Singapore's famous Gardens by the Bay. Evoking that sense of place aboard MSC World Asia is just part of what will set this ship apart from other World Class vessels in the line's fleet, MSC said.
The Cliffhanger is also a notable ship feature. This over-water swing glides 164 feet above the wide-open sea. Passengers who've tried this experience on other MSC World Class ships say it's both exhilarating and incredibly Zen due to the incredible – and unobstructed – panoramic views.
For passengers who want to keep their feet on the ground, MSC World Asia's Formula 1 Racer is likely the best option. The two-seater simulator that replicates exactly what it's like to drive a high-speed Formula 1 race car.
Cruise Critic community member DamianG took the wheel of an MSC Formula 1 Racer aboard MSC Virtuosa and had this advice: "I … tried the Formula 1 simulator and was very disappointed with my effort, though flip-flops were not the ideal footwear choice and a partial excuse." You've all been warned. Wear appropriate footwear to get the most out of this race car simulator experience.
The ship will be named November 28 in Le Havre, France. It will then set sail on its inaugural season from Barcelona for a seven-night Mediterranean journey from December 4.
MSC World Asia will house plenty of family-friendly entertainment, including seven pools and 13 hot tubs; 40 bars, lounges and restaurants; and, of course, the line's beloved MSC Yacht Club.
