Panama and Peru Update Commercial Agenda in Logistics and Ports

The president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, and the president of Peru, Keiko Fujimori, agreed to strengthen the bilateral relationship with an agenda focused on trade, logistics, and port cooperation. Both governments proposed updating the Free Trade Agreement in force since 2012 to respond to the new dynamics of international trade.

The meeting addressed initiatives to reinforce cooperation between port systems, promote Peru's adherence to the Treaty of Neutrality of the Panama Canal, and explore an open skies agreement that strengthens air connectivity and cargo transport. Measures to facilitate trade, attract investments, and boost exchange through the Colón Free Zone were also analyzed.

The strengthening of this bilateral agenda will favor logistical integration between Panama and Peru, promoting greater connectivity, port development, and more efficient supply chains. These actions will strengthen maritime trade, the competitiveness of both countries, and their integration into international markets.
