AD Ports Group announced the creation of a consolidated multimodal land logistics network, which includes dry ports and cargo depots connected by rail, among them Industry City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), part of the Kezad Group. This network will position Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals as primary gateways for UAE industry, strengthening the transport of industrial cargo in the country and throughout the region.
In support of this initiative, the holding company signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with local manufacturers Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Emsteel Group, Al Ghurair Iron & Steel, and Tenaris, positioning them as key industrial cargo clients in AD Ports Group's rail-based land logistics network.
The network aims to facilitate the efficient movement of industrial inputs, finished products, and strategic cargo across the UAE. It will connect Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals with inland rail dry ports, ICAD, and cargo depots nationwide, creating a more integrated logistics infrastructure that enables seamless flows between production centers, inland markets, and regional trade corridors.
Designed to optimize supply chain performance, the network will enable more reliable inbound flows of industrial raw materials for UAE manufacturers, while offering greater flexibility for the distribution of finished and semi-finished products through multiple land and entry options, strengthening corridor resilience, reducing reliance on single entry points, and improving access to UAE and regional markets.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, stated that "by establishing a consolidated multimodal land logistics network, supported by leading industrial companies in the UAE, we seek to further strengthen the backbone of the country's industrial logistics. This network will connect Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals with an inland rail dry port network and cargo depots, optimizing the commercial use of the UAE's national rail infrastructure. It will also facilitate better access to industrial inputs, greater flexibility in exports, and increased long-term competitiveness for national supply chains, in line with our leadership's vision."
By strengthening land cargo connectivity between ports, industrial zones, and end markets, the consolidated network will drive industrial growth in the UAE, improving trade corridor options for strategic cargo in the country and the wider region. Its benefits will extend to manufacturers and industries in Kezad and other industrial sectors across the UAE, enabling more efficient access to raw materials and more agile export of finished products through Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals as key gateways.
