Ultraport certified seven workers from Valparaíso through ChileValora, as part of the national plan for instructor training and qualification.
The initiative, implemented through the Ultraport Valparaíso Internal Training Center, formalizes their experience in the competencies and skills necessary for each port operation through accreditation.
"Certifying our workers as senior instructors formally, through ChileValora, places each new instructor at a new level, where their knowledge is officially recognized and accredited for any training instance in which they wish to participate," stated Gabriela Cassis, Ultraport National Head of Training and Development.
The certification accredits the necessary competencies to transmit knowledge and work experience to other workers. To obtain it, participants were practically evaluated in a classroom setting, using the content exposition method by the certifying body Fulcro.
Sergio Pinto, instructor of the forklift and truck-tractor course, said that "for me, this certification represents a great achievement. It allows me to strengthen my skills and continue growing as a port worker. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to share what I know with new colleagues and reciprocate the trust that Ultraport placed in me."
Karen Ponce, Head of People at the Valparaíso Branch, noted that "this milestone strengthens our training processes and recognizes those who are now instructors. We especially value the dedication of those who share their experience and knowledge to promote the learning and development of others. This is fundamental to continue professionalizing port work and preparing our workers for future challenges."
The delivery of the certifications took place in the auditorium of the Classroom Building of the Faculty of Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Regional authorities and representatives from ChileValora, Sence, and the certifying body Fulcro participated in the ceremony.
Currently, nine other Ultraport Valparaíso workers are in the evaluation process to obtain the same certification and join the company's internal instructor team.
Ultraport, meanwhile, will advance this initiative in the rest of its branches from Arica to Punta Arenas, thus equating the senior category with the corresponding certification for each worker who fulfills this role.
