The Port of Los Angeles Student Worker Program provides a unique opportunity for experiential learning, networking and personal development for undergraduate and graduate students.
Prospective student employees must:
Ideal student employee candidates are expected to be motivated, responsible, punctual and committed.
Student candidates may work up to 20 hours per week and should be available to work in person Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Student workers may be assigned to work on site at the Port’s headquarters in San Pedro, or other Port facilities in San Pedro and Wilmington.
Student Worker: $19.06 per hour.
Community college student, or university freshman, sophomore, or junior.
Student Professional Worker: $26.01 per hour.
University senior or graduate student.
Applications for student worker positions are accepted year-round and filled throughout the year. Student workers at the Port of Los Angeles are City of Los Angeles Harbor Department part-time employees.
