The navigation lock of the Yacyretá Hydroelectric Power Plant has been completely rehabilitated following the completion of recent maintenance work, as reported by the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY).
With the conclusion of the corrective tasks, the passage for vessels is once again enabled, ensuring the safe re-establishment of lock operations since last Wednesday, the 24th of the current month.
EBY communicated this news to companies in the shipping sector and river transport operators, highlighting that the improvements ensure the continuity of transit in this strategic infrastructure for regional navigation.
The entity also emphasized the importance of normalizing river activities, considering that a significant portion of the country's foreign trade is conducted through this waterway. The Yacyretá navigation lock is the only one of its kind in Paraguay and constitutes a key point for connectivity and the development of waterway transport.
