ZPMC's new wind-resistant quay crane debuted at Qingdao Dagang Terminal in China.
Facing increasingly complex and changing port environments, the new-generation unit demonstrates exceptional performance in gust resistance. It can withstand sudden gusts of up to 58 meters per second during operations, and all key performance indicators meet design expectations.
The equipment will further increase Qingdao Dagang's handling capacity to over one million TEU.
The new crane features elliptical columns, a streamlined portal frame structure, and the industry's first semicircular main beam design. Its machinery house has also been optimized with an octagonal structure, effectively reducing wind exposure and overall weight.
These innovations reduce the crane's wind load by 80% compared to traditional designs, improving operational stability in extreme weather conditions from a structural level.
Meanwhile, the customized multi-level braking system 'WindGuard Safety System' integrates multiple protection measures, including motorized braking, rail clamps, and anti-climbing devices, creating a comprehensive safety barrier to ensure stable operation even in extreme weather conditions.
