Boskalis' Windpiper Begins Operations on Offshore Energy Projects

Boskalis' new rock installation vessel, named Windpiper, has set sail to work on its first assigned project. The vessel departed from the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands to load cargo in Norway and then head to the Baltic Sea.

The company highlighted that "this inaugural project marks an important milestone. Subsea rock installation plays a fundamental role in protecting and stabilizing marine infrastructure on the seabed, including assets that support the growing offshore wind industry, as well as cables and and pipelines."

"With the start of Windpiper's operations, we further strengthen our capacity to contribute to offshore energy projects in Europe and the rest of the world," Boskalis stated.

"The Windpiper is also a great example of how experience, teamwork, and innovation come together. Over the past year and a half, colleagues from across the company have worked to transform the vessel into a state-of-the-art subsea rock installation vessel, ready for this new phase," the company remarked.

"We wish the Windpiper crew the best of luck with this inaugural project and thank all colleagues who made this achievement possible," the company expressed.
