The Dutch naval electrical supplier Electro Cirkel has opened a new office and warehouse in Singapore, expanding its presence to one of the world's busiest maritime hubs.
"This move reflects the growing importance of fast and reliable electrical supply within the global maritime industry, where ship suppliers and vessel operators work under increasing time pressure and with short port stays," the company communicated.
"Singapore records approximately 140,000 vessel calls per year and remains a key center for global shipping, bunkering, and maritime services. Its strategic position and the concentration of maritime activity made this the next logical step for Electro Cirkel's international naval operations," it added.
The Singapore delegation is led by Emil Skavlem, who recently relocated to establish the company's local presence in the region. "Singapore is one of the world's busiest maritime centers. The market is extremely dynamic and operationally demanding," he stated.
"We are here to support ship suppliers and maritime clients with reliable supply, technical knowledge, and a hassle-free experience," he complemented.
According to Electro Cirkel, the decision to establish a physical presence in Singapore was due to the growing need for local availability and reliable deliveries within maritime supply chains.
"Ship supply relies on reliability and response time. When ships are in port for a limited time, ship suppliers need partners who can move quickly and deliver without unnecessary complications. By opening in Singapore, we are closer to the market and better positioned to support maritime operations throughout the region," specified Rudolf van Soelen, owner of Electro Cirkel.
Over the past few months, the Singapore team has built the operation from scratch, including warehouse infrastructure, inventory setup, and local logistical capabilities. This local structure allows Electro Cirkel to respond more quickly to the daily demands of ship suppliers, vessel operators, and maritime service providers in the region.
"We are not entering the market to become the biggest player overnight. Our focus is on long-term relationships, consistent quality, and making things easier for customers operating in demanding maritime environments," added Van Soelen.
The expansion in Singapore is the latest step in Electro Cirkel's growing international naval network, alongside its operations in Rotterdam, Houston, and Deqing (China). From these locations, the family-owned company supports ship suppliers and maritime clients worldwide with electrical supplies, lighting products, and technical assistance.
