The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through Provías Nacional, has completed the installation of three modular bridges on national highway PE-5SA, between kilometers 99 and 144 of the Puerto Ocopa–Atalaya section. This strategic project improves road connectivity and provides greater safety conditions for thousands of citizens in the Junín and Ucayali regions.
The intervention included the placement of the Ivotzote, Maniti, and Garzacocha modular bridges, each 30.4 meters long and 4.2 meters wide. These structures are located between the districts of Río Tambo, in the province of Satipo (Junín), and Raimondi, in the province of Atalaya (Ucayali), a fundamental route for the integration of the central jungle.
The new infrastructure will optimize transit conditions on this road corridor, facilitating the transport of agricultural, forestry, and livestock products to consumer markets, reducing travel times, and strengthening the access of the local population to basic services such as health, education, and commerce.
With this project, the MTC and Provías Nacional reaffirm their commitment to continue closing gaps in road infrastructure in the country, promoting a safer, more efficient transport network at the service of citizens.
