The World Maritime University is a postgraduate training center specializing in strategic areas of the maritime sector, such as navigation safety, marine environmental protection, research, and development. Its work is aimed at strengthening the capacities of maritime administrations in different countries through the training of specialized professionals.
To make this training possible, the Prefectura had the support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), part of The Nippon Foundation, whose contribution financed the officer's studies.
This graduation represents a new advance in the professional training of the Maritime Authority's personnel and contributes to strengthening the Institution's technical capabilities, as well as its participation in international maritime cooperation forums.
