Ecuador seeks to deepen its trade relationship with China and effectively leverage the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), in effect since May 2024. Within the framework of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Ecuador aims to strengthen commercial ties and expand access for its products to the Chinese market.
Among the products with opportunities for access to the Chinese market are shrimp, bananas, flowers, cocoa, and coffee, as well as pitahaya, pineapple, mango, blueberries, and quinoa. Ecuador also seeks to advance new sanitary and phytosanitary protocols to expand its exportable offerings.
A recent achievement was the signing of the protocol for the entry of fresh Ecuadorian blueberries into China. The country plans to continue expanding and diversifying its exports to this market, along with a bilateral agenda that includes trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, technology, and sustainable development.
