The Port of Bilbao is participating prominently in the 9th edition of the International Duero Cereal Exchange, which is being held in Valladolid on Wednesday, September 16.
The delegation is represented by the Port Authority of Bilbao and Uniport, the multimodal logistics cluster of the Basque Country, along with associated companies: Bergé Marítima, Bunge Ibérica, Depósitos Portuarios – Deposa, SAPS – Sociedad Auxiliar Punta Sollana, and Servicios Logísticos Portuarios – SLP, all specialized in this sector and with their own terminals in Bilbao.
They are providing attendees with an information space where they will offer a comprehensive portfolio of multimodal logistics services aimed at the agricultural, livestock, agro-energy, and food sectors, and for any destination included in the nearly 900 ports with which Bilbao offers connection.
The event is organized by ACCOE (Spanish Association of Cereal and Oilseed Trade) and Unistock de España (Spanish Association of Port Warehousers of Grains, Cereals, and their derivatives).
Approximately three million tons of agri-food and agro-energy products are traded through the Port of Bilbao annually, of which 30% corresponds to soybeans. Other notable traffics include oils and fats, feed and fodder, cereals, and flours, among others.
It also concentrates a significant number of multimodal logistics service companies for the agri-food and biofuel industries: specialized terminals, shipping agencies, chartering, port operations, storage and warehousing, road and rail transport, customs representation, insurers or quality certifiers, packaging, are clear examples.
Its Border Control Post (PCF) has 15 gates and is authorized by the European Commission for sanitary, phytosanitary, and commercial quality controls of all types of agri-food products subject to foreign trade.
