Apollo Maritime Services appointed José Negron, a veteran of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Carnival Corp., as head of ports & destinations development.
Negron brings more than 30 years of experience across the cruise, hospitality and destination development sectors, with extensive expertise in cruise port development, private destination operations, major capital projects and government and stakeholder relations.
In senior leadership positions at NCLH and Carnival Corp., his responsibilities included global port and destination development, private island operations and the evaluation and development of new cruise destinations. He has managed significant cruise port assets and has been directly involved in the development and operation of destinations across the Caribbean and Latin America, including Mexico, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos.
He also has been active in the industry through the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association.
Negron will lead AMS activities related to the evaluation, development and management of cruise ports and emerging cruise destinations, supporting cruise lines, port and destination owners, developers, governments and investors from the early strategic, feasibility and investment-assessment stages through development, implementation and ongoing operations.
Negron reports to Capt. Luigi Razeto, president & COO, who reports to CEO Robin Lindsay.
Miami-based AMS said Negron's appointment represents an important step in its development as an integrated maritime services company focused on three core areas: cruise ship management and advisory; port infrastructure and destination development, investment advisory and management; and special projects advisory, including cruise ship newbuilding dry docks and major refurbishment projects.
