Norberto Negrón Díaz, executive director of the Puerto Rico Ports Authority (APPR), visited San Juan Cruise Port to inspect firsthand the progress of the construction work being carried out under a public-private partnership with Global Port Holding.
On this occasion, the executive had the opportunity to learn more about the work carried out by divers and construction teams in essential structural interventions to strengthen the piers and respond to the operational needs of cruise lines.
The visit included a tour on the barge from which the rehabilitation work on the Pier 4 mooring dolphin is currently being carried out, an infrastructure that has been out of operation for more than seven years and which SJCP is working to return to service.
"This is what this alliance with the Government of Puerto Rico is about: recovering infrastructure, strengthening our ports, and continuing to restore the confidence of cruise lines in Puerto Rico as a destination. A lot of work happens behind every ship that arrives at our piers. We continue to advance, we continue to invest and, above all, we continue to do our work for Puerto Rico," said San Juan Cruise Port.
