Both French and dedicated to excellence in luxury hospitality, the high-end cruise company and the iconic beauty and wellness marque formed an exclusive partnership.
Starting this year, Ponant Explorations and Carita will offer a unique range of signature rituals inspired by the art of travel.
This holistic wellness and beauty offering will be available aboard luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot starting this month and across the entire fleet, including sailing vessel Le Ponant, by February.
Since 2014, Carita has been the jewel of L'Oréal's luxury division.
Visionary sisters Maria and Rosy Carita, founders of this high beauty brand that has been radiating since 1945, called themselves "entrepreneurs of metamorphosis."
In the heart of Paris, at Maison de Beauté Carita, 11 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré — their historic address since 1951 and nowadays urban sanctuary and chic haven — the Ponant partnership was revealed on Thursday.
This exclusive collaboration exemplifies a common ethos.

"The art of travel and the art of beauty partake of the very same quest: a profound reconnection to oneself.
"With Ponant Explorations, we bring our urban sanctuary to a new horizon of 'chosen decelaration,' combining our expertise as beauty artisans with our avant-garde technology."
For Ponant Explorations CEO Benoit-Etienne Domenget, "This collaboration reflects our joint vision of highly distinctive mastery, founded on excellence, personalization and a resolutely sensory approach. Both our universes are in resonance, echoing each other."
Ponant has been operating for 38 years, exploring the world in "360 degrees," Domenget said, offering "fresh and unique experiences, opening windows into the unknown."
With a maximum capacity of 200 passengers, "our human-scale ships are also a haven of comfort and privacy. A journey is measured by the transformation it brings about, and beauty lies not only in discovering the world but also your own self," he continued. "What we have done with Carita is deeply meaningful as it redefines the boundaries of experiential beauty and high-end expedition explorations at sea."
These holistic shipboard paths to reconnection are "profound, exclusive and perfectly orchestrated," Domenget said. The treatments for this new "sanctuary at sea" include some choreographed rituals that are Carita's DNA, such as the Lagoon Repair Therapy for the face, the 11 Faubourg Ritual for the face and body and the "Mythical Head Spa" for the hair.
"We also wanted to develop exclusive services resonating with the experience on board in order to recharge, regenerate and revitalize," Allegri said. These include The 5 Senses Night Recovery protocol, an immersive, holistic ritual designed to unlock the skin's nocturnal regenerative power, and the Jet Lag Draining Protocol.
