Cruise Lines International Association Australasia Chair Peter Little told delegates at Cruise360 2026 held in Sydney September 17-18 the association had reached a record level of membership, numbering almost 7,000 travel advisors across Australia and New Zealand.
Little, who is Carnival Australia SVP and country manager, said the Australian and New Zealand cruise community was now stronger than ever.
"That is a record high and it is a testament to the continuing relevance of professional, knowledgeable travel advisors," Little said.
"You remain the most important part of our industry's distribution chain and the level of investment that cruise lines place in CLIA events is a direct reflection of that importance," he said.
He said CLIA training programmes continued to show exceptional completion rates and that initiatives like the CLIA Masters programme were consistently fully subscribed.
He said CLIA's expanded membership provided additional weight to its advocacy initiatives.
